Myselfme:trying, first i don't know how to put into manual focus, interface is not straight forward
usually its a button on the lens. not on the camera. check the lens switches. sometimes you have to put both lens and camera in MF mode. read the manual, I am sure it will be there. Chinnu:18-55 ke intha clarity aa
chinnu, lens sharpness is a feature achieved through the quality of the glass, number of elements used and the coatings. not a function of focal lengths. in general, low focal length fixed lenses will be sharpest. 50mm f1.2 lens is usually the sharpest lens for any manufacturer. you can get it for about $250. for portraits you would go 80mm or 90mm f1.6 or better would do. usually the lens they sell with body is mediocre. Myselfme:auto lo petti teesthunna,
basically there are three things to master: focus and focus subject, aperture, and metering. start with focus. keep the lens in manual focus mode (check the switches) and try to shoot everything manually. especially the closer ones. while focusing, figure out the focus subject. when you take a picture, ask yourself, why do I like this scene? human mind/eyes are so wonderful, we see selectively what is great in the scene. but camera sees everything, so the skill is in enhancing what is interesting and hiding/deemphasizing what is not important. the tool for that is focus. focus what is important into sharpness, and make everything else is soft. to make something soft or sharp, you need to understand the concept if depth of field. in olden times we used to do a mental calc. but most modern slrs have stop down button, learn to use that. then aperture. then metering/lighting. Maverick:first pic lo close ga unna flowers on right blur ayyai, distant vi bagunnai..ala ela?
its the distance. the right ones are closer to the camera, and the left ones are farther. Depending on the point of focus, there will be a field of depth. the closest ones are outside the field of depth. thats why in shots such as these, it is better to put the focus point on the closest flower. then the focus gradually softens and looks natural. if you are more skilful, you can place the point of focus somehwere areound 1/3 of the distance from the camera and check the sharpness by stopping down the lens. most camera have a buttin to stop down the lens (some times called DOF preview button). reducing the aperture to smallest possible value also helps. what lens did they have? Zeiss or just Sony? Colors are not too shabby. front end out of focus, may be because your AF point is in the mid of the field. shots such as these, you must focus on the nearer 1/3 distance. you ficused around 1/2 point. shoot some backlit subjects and post, we will see what it can do.
