IMO, Gold price did not go down as much as I thought. When you say 50% how come the Gold price is hovering around $1500 - $1600 ?
If Iran stops trading oil in Dinar and uses dollar as default currency, dollar value could go up again .....This would only happen when US completely occupies eyeran by controlling its oil price... | ||

That ETF is supposed to be buying/selling physical Gold at the end of each day to square it up. Atleast SGOL does that. Thats why I prefer it. Now do you remember just a few months back everyone is writing off USD when it was down graded? What has changed in just 3 months? How come suddenly USD has become so strong that it can push Gold down by 50%? We all know nothing has changed, except that it is proven that Euro is no match for USD in strength. The theory now seems to be that Gold will stay as is, or go down because USD will stay as is or strengthen. How can the USD strengthen on its own, when Fed is keeping the interests and inflation is almost zero. You have to have -ve inflation to make the USD strengthen. That means Fed has to buy USD instead of printing it. How is this possible? Yes and No. The idea is at any givent point in time, you should be able to sell the ETF and buy the metal for the same price, +/- a few dollars. Some ETFs will also let you exchange the physical Gold, example, SGOL. You can exchange the in blocks of 4Kg. I am hoping they will make it 1Kg. You can fly to Zurich and bring it home. Gold is up because the US Dollar is worth 1/3 the value..so it takes more to purchase God...Oil is up because of the lack of dollar value. A gold bullion ETF is simply an exchange traded fund that tracks the price of physical gold. If the price of gold goes up 10%, the ETF will go up the same proportion and if the gold price goes down 10%, again the ETF will follow. they are supposed to track each other. almost same. but over the period a small difference has crept up. GLD is highly liquid, you can get in and out within minutes. But if there is a govt intervention or some f'up happens, you will lose it. Buying in physical needs protection, and also it is non-liquid. SGOL tracks gold price closer than GLD. If Gold has to fall by half, OIL also has to fall significantly, if not by half almost close to it. That means a barrel of oil has to come to $50. This seems like a dream. That means USD has to double in value, which means our real wages have to double too. There will be too much wage/service price arbitration between the US jobs and international jobs, for example canadian jobs. almost all companies will move to Canada because there they get 2 employees for one here. Best way to benefit from gold is, buy every time it falls 10% or more. the longer the sine wave pattern continues, longer the time of accumulation.
