I use google phone number as my primary number. I only give google number to everyone. And i put number forwarding , multiphone ring and sms to my phone. It gives great advantage. You can do like this. During office hours you can say ring my cell phone and office phone, During night and weekends ring home phone and cell phone. Also you can give india number through vonage number. This way you would have great handle on where call should be forwarded.

Next i change prepaid numbers now and than based offers. Initially i got prepaid everything unlimited for 60$.. now i have some xyz carreir for 45$. now i have advantage that i need not to worry abt number porting and contract.

too good if you have google phone

1. setup google voice account and choose a number(FREE FREE FREE)/port ur old number
2. In settings, forward to ur existing mobile phone-number

3. use ur regular mobile phone to receive or make calls under this new phone number (app installation needed if u r not using android phone)

4.now u have a single phone which works as two different phone numbers

5. if u have internet computer then u dont even need cell phone to make calls with ur google number
