//H264 is latest and most up-to-date implementation of mpeg-4. You get very good quality video in smaller size files. // What conversion software do you suggest?? As I told in my previous post, my preferance is 'ease of use' feature. If I give the source files, it should take conversion all my itself without my presence.  . doesn't matter how long that takes.I am ready to compromise on this for good quality of video. Right now, my eiditng software is just Imovie11/iphoto11. I may go to Final cut Cxpress in future..not sure at this time.. I really appreciate for your help. //do you have latest Handbrake installed? // Looks like 'Add to que' is working now. But,I need to add mannually each and every video clipping to this que. It is OK..not that bad. But..I am looking if there is any way that it can be done by just pointing to the folder(with video clippings).I may be doing more videos like this in future..so want to save time.I was using SONy mini DVd camera before.Imovies/iphotos recognised them and imported without any problem.I bought this canon HD camcorder and taking lot of weekend time for just conversion.Did not do much research if the video format from thsi camcorder is compatible with mac or not and now I am paying price for that  //What is your usage? where do you want to play these files?// By burnign DVDs to send to India and may want to upload to youtube too(to share with friends and family memberes) | ||

do you have latest Handbrake installed? XVID and H264 are two different codecs. MKV and MP4 are containers for these codecs. MKV is latest and can contain videocodec, audio and subtitles. MKV, MP4 can contain - H264 or XVID codecs | ||

Thakita-Thakita, Thank you very much for your reply.'Add to Que' is disabled for me and can not use it..I don,t know why. i re-installed Handbrake..Let me see how that works. Yes, Andulo Add to que ani option vuntundi adi use chesi you can do batch convert. You can use XVID codec, it is FAST conversion. H264 takes long time to encode but you get very good quality video with less SIZE file Also if you need more quality use 2-pass encode, it takes around 2hrs for 2hrs video but you will get best quality | ||

Entikaburlu and other mac users, 400 video clippings vunnaayi naa daggara(Canon HD camcorder tho thisinavi). Vitini convert(MP4) chedhamani chusthe..okkokka file ante..chaalaa time pattetattlu vundi. Indulo yemi anna batch processing chese avakaasam vundaa?? Oka vela Handbrake kaakundaa..inkaa yemi anna softwares vunnaayaa oka saari oka folder lo pedithee files anni convert ayyatatlu gaa??
