sorry bro, here is the deal. TM uses only one big flat file for its use. so the new hard drive just acts as one drive. no need to partition and all that nonsense. that's the PC way of doing things. Once Mac creates its own file for TM on that drive, rest of the space is avl for your other kalaposhaning. i do not recommend partitions. just create separate folders for use. Nenu 2005 lo Imac konnaanu with 320 GB hard disc. adi ye maatram saripovadam ledu.Tharvaatha Imovies( both Events and projects) oka external harddrive loki move chesaanu. ade external disc loki iphoto(with all photos) move chedhamaani chesthe avvaledu.yenduku avvaledo,yemi error message vachindo..ippudu gurthu ledu. kotha hard drive loki move chedhamaani chusthe subhram gaa move ayyaayi. so, appati nunchi alaage continue chesthunnaanu.Ippudu problem yemiti ante..Imovies oka daantlo..Iphoto oka daantlo vunnaayi. idi kaaka Timemachine inkokati vundi..Ippudu /time Machine lo space ayipoyindi.. Ippudu naa question yemti ante.. 2TB external hard drive koni daanini 1Tb each gaa partition chesi okati Time Machine ki okati regular hardrive(for photos and videos) ki vaadukovadaaniki vilu paduthundaa?? appudu inni external hard drives use chese problem vundadu.costco lo kone mundu oka saari adugdhamani post chesaanu.
