The race for Tirupati Assembly seat has already begun in the ruling Congress. It is widely believed that the actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, who represents the temple town, will be nominated to Rajya Sabha. Following this, the Tirupati seat will fall vacant. While Chiranjeevi has been lobbying on behalf of his actor-brother Nagababu or his wife Surekha, the minister from Chittoor district Galla Aruna Kumari wants her son to contest from the constituency. What is wrong if my son aspired for Assembly ticket? When doctors’ son can become doctors and actors’ sons can become actors, why can’t a politician’s son become a politician and serve the society? Galla asked. Justifying her efforts to get the party ticket for her son, the Minister said that any qualified person can join politics and serve the people. On his part, Chiranjeevi neither confirmed nor denied the reports that his family members are in the race for Tirupati ticket. Chiranjeevi’s elevation to the Upper House looks almost certain now.
