Caddy, Gold is slowly delinking itself from the physical metal. in otherwords very soon you will be trading non existent gold, so gold price may not affect the miners fortunes. what improves their fortune is if they can produce enough and sell it. so best bets are those with the largest proven reserves with efficient mining operations. ABX is one. if you want a cheap bet with a lot of reserves, KGC. if you want to benefit from the gold itself, SGOL and GLD. for some reason SGOL correlates the price more closely hence my favorite.
