Telugu Desam Party on Wednesday issued a privilege notice against minister for secondary education K Parthasarthy for his "objectionable behaviour" in the assembly. The TDP legislators submitted the notice to assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar along with video clippings of the assembly proceedings showing Parthasarathy’s indecent gestures while opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu was speaking on the motion of thanks to Governor’s address. The TDP leaders have also decided to complain to Governor E S L Narasimhan expressing serious objection to the minister’s behaviour in the assembly. There was a strong argument between Naidu and the minister in the assembly during the discussion. Naidu was referring to an e-mail from the minister to the officials recommending allotment of Indiramma houses to the Congress party workers. The TDP president wondered whether Parthasarathy was treating the programme as his personal one. He said the day was not far off when the minister would be sent to jail. Parthasarthy defended his action saying there was nothing wrong in recommending allotment of houses to those who had applied online. "The beneficiaries included the TDP workers as well. I am prepared to go to jail and face the inquiry if I have done anything wrong.
