The whole complex is under litigation [Home Owners Association HOA vs. Builder] and hence no bank would come forward to give a loan. [unless u put 50% down.. not sure tho]. It seems builder violated some construction laws in the state. Not all condos are affected. So we should be careful in buying which ones might be least affected. Arbitration is this coming sept. If both parties settle or HOA win [very hi probability] we could end up paying few bucks on repairs. Even if HOA win, builder might go for bankruptcy by which owners might spend a lot depending on condo condition. I am prepared for 20K. Still pretty good price of 106K. 1095/mo is the rent at the minimum. If we put cash down, we might get a good condo for abt 60K, which I think is pretty good rate. Now a days a lexus costs around 45K.. There is nothing to loose. In this db, there's always someone watching you!!  | ||

mav - yes. Got the keys last friday. Day after moving.. as of now all units with homepath program gone aka loan eligible units gone annattu. Did you use any primer? On one of the other walls, we started painting Almond color and thinking back, we should have used primer.. As of now three walls done.. lot more to go.. one wall every weekend setting.. In this db, there's always someone watching you!! | ||

Even though Andy/Spy said its eeeji to paint interiors, somehow felt its a menial job and might takeup much of my moving time. SO went ahead and got quotes from two different contractors. Both quoted 2K. With one of the contractors I had groupon worth 400. Still 1600 was kind of over my budget. So we thought of painting the walls ourselves. One of the walls color we choose right in the middle of red and maroon. One gallon, egg shell finish Valspar hidef paint 31$ minus 5$ mail in rebate. All accessories for about fitty more bucks. It took about three hours and it came out pretty good. The existing color was lightish brown and so it took couple of more coats. Overall, I am thrilled about DIY paint job. I am glad I posted the thed and thanks to all who shared their experience and encouraged to go for it.. In this db, there's always someone watching you!! |
