American sports were/are dominated by blacks.. aa height, personality anedi vaallaki varam.. anyway coming to the point: 1. Americans were dead against English. They wanted to have their own identity in all fields. Thens started. Circular field, flat bat, stumps ki dead opposite, diamond filed, four runners, round bat.. ilaa baseball.. American gaallu rebellious type, that is how this country was formed. They do almost everything in the opposite way. Drinking water at the water fountain (water comes up from down), electric switch, driving on the road, etc etc are some of the examples. No wonder, they picked games which are different from rest of the world and made them popular. Even the basketball they play here in usa have many different rules than the international basketball rules. | ||

I have always wondered why some of the core American games like Baseball and American Football are not universally accepted. Or may be it is happening and I do not know. Or is it that the games are so Americanized that no one else is interested. While other games have been spreading wide and far...the American games...looks like did not.. given the fact that the Americans can sell anything to anyone...how come they could not sell their sport to other nations and make them more popular.. i know that Football and Baseball are getting popular in Caribbean and more youth are getting into it. |
