ok... can we do this... run msconfig command from run prompt and open services tab and uncheck those services... you are not using it.... from startup tab remove some programs tooo... remove unwanted applications from system tray... in the bottom right cornor of your computer.... all opinions expressed here are mine.. please follow at your own risk.... I will do a defrag tonight and see if it helps. but even after a brand new OS install it has the same issue. I have a laptop windows 7. It always does something with disk. all the time. so much so that it gives me headache with that constant sound. What is it doing? I have disabled disk indexing. auto updates are not on. What is it doing, how do I know? It has antivirus etc all upto date.
