I kind of memorized a lot of tips of Kunal Gir's website. I believe he wrote that doing cardio with heart rate at 130 will burn fat and not muscle. High intensity burns fat and muscle. I just want to burn fat.

There is a fat loss setting on elliptical. I tried it once and didn't like it.

Resistance 10 for manual mode on elliptical is close to basic. In other modes, like Random mode, that level is difficult.

I think you are ok. On elliptical my heart rate starts at 145 (I do some weights before hitting this machine) and goes up to 180.

1 hr elliptical - 700 calories. Someone asked for distance. I think it was 3.65(not sure what measurementis used)

Elliptical is life fitness brand. On manual program, resistance 10. Variations, I think, are do to how energetic one works out. I noticed that my heart rate was mostly around 150-160 for most of the time. Will try to maintain at 130-140 from tomorrow on wards.

I am sure everyone feels the same...running is more difficult compared to elliptical...how come we burn more calories on elliptical compared to treadmill?

Elliptical have less stress on body compared to running and stair case..

100 cal running = 200 cal Elliptical..

If you have leg pains or other problems, go for elliptical otherwise always run..

There is a group training class in which I see lots of ppl learning how to use free weights
I would say one should try these

But have always known that morning cardio is better.

Will be going to gym. As always, 1 hour on elliptical. Then hoping to do 1/2 hr on treadmill. I prefer elliptical a lot more.

Wish I could workout in morning but work schedule is not helping.

2.5km walk in the evening ... 250 calories elliptical morning ..
regime will be like this for another month or so .. still recovering from smoking with-drawal ... so no weights .. no running ...

it has been a bit more than three weeks since i started focusing more on strength training...low reps, heavy sets...5x5 for main muscle group followed by 4x8s
around 20% increase in the 5x5s ..will continue this routine for 2 more months
no diff in body wt...so hoping fat is getting burnt...but long way to see true visual difference

and the slow running another 15 mins

next eclipse 15 mins
finally weights 30 mins
count 10 for each like arms/chest/ back/front etc
