Refresh rate (60Hz vs 120Hz) is not the only thing to compare. Dynamic contrast range, backlighting LEDs (edge vs full array), black levels etc. Sony XBR46HX929 costs more than 2K where as you can score a similar for half price from any brands including Sony. For 40" screen, you can forgo some of the Picture Quality and save money. These extra features/settings are important for 50"+ models. | ||

It's Sony LED TV with built-in google tv. The TV itself is decent for the price, nothing special. The USP is Google TV "software". If you are minimalistic and does not want extra components, then its an all-inclusive internet TV. Apparently, the Google TV version 1.0 is not that great (based on market response) and google is planning to release version 2.0 with lots of new features. I am not sure if Sony will let you update the software. If you definitely need this software, you can buy any 40" LED TV and add a bluray player with Google TV software (Logitech makes one). | ||
