"It is not proper on the part of those who are facing serious charges in the CBI investigation to seek special prisoner status during the judicial remand period. How are they eligible for being called special prisoners? We are going to challenge it in the high court," said TDP legislator Rajendra Prasad. He said if the government wanted to treat persons like Gali Janardhan Reddy, Vijay Sai Reddy, Sunil Reddy or Srilakshmi as special prisoners, it could take over the palatial bungalow of Jaganmohan Reddy and shift all these prisoners into the bungalow. "Let these accused be lodged in the Lotus Pond house of Jagan," he said. The TDP leader called upon the IAS officers to turn approvers and disclose the names of the political bigwigs who had resorted to scams. Gurunath Reddy told the Speaker that if the latter was not interested in disqualifying the rebel MLAs for defying the party whip, he should recognize them as the MLAs belonging to the YSR Congress party. “We want to go to the people and get elected as YSR Congress MLAs. If we are not given that opportunity, the Speaker should at least treat us YSR Congress MLAs and allot us separate seats in the assembly,” he said. There is reasoning in Gurunath Reddy’s demand. Obviously, the Speaker can’t acknowledge the defiance of party whip, then he should declare the rebels as YSR Cong MLAs. At least, Jagan will have some figure in the assembly! Going by a survey, there are chances of a hung assembly after the next assembly elections.
