Everyone interprets ideas and books differently Hmm , FH is more consumable...easier to understand and relate to - but it is also a vehicle to presents her take on individualism Vs Collectivism at an individual level... Atlas Shrugged takes it higher to to societies - so it becomes more convoluted To me AS was an extension of FH - and AS used the characters as metaphors for types of people we see around us - not individuals so I did not have issues with the characterisation... I was influenced by her writing in FH. FH chadivina rojullo, I was like me against the world.. Neno super genius ni and people around me nanu thokkesthunnar ani maanchi script kuda raasukuni oogipoyina ippudu mana RGV laga . The reason for skipping that speech - I thought what was told in that 60 page speech was already told in previous pages. I read few pages in the beginning and in the last.It was repetive. Ayn Rand oka primary school teacher laga repetition tho veera badudu baadindhi ani felted. Reason for not liking the book - Characters are poorly sketched - you see a group of heroes who are good and a group of people who are supremely evil. Evil in the sense they go to any extent and kill anyone to prove their point...edo telugu cinema villains laga. FH lo ala kaadu , Elseworth Toohey is evil but he is evil only in context of individualism. We never get to know what Elseworth toohey is like as a person outside of individuailsm. But in AS, James taggart is like Kota sreenivasa rao.I thought she went to extreme just to prove her point that socialism is bad and capitalism is good. | ||

As I came to last part of the book,I felt the same way, but the speech is what ties his actions together... He does not advocate escaping - infact the very opposite - he does it to demonstrate what happens when the movers and shakers of the world do take the escape route... Infact , thanks to you I started reading the speech again and it is one breath-taking, inspired piece of writing...even more so now than it was when I was 15.
