Victory Venkatesh,Trisha's starrer 'Body Guard' surprised many in local markets with its steady collections weathering the tsunami of Prince Mahesh Babu's 'Business Man'. The film directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Bellamkonda Suresh is the remake of malayalam hit film 'Bodyguard'. Film makers felt that it would rake in considerable profits overseas but all their estimates went wrong with their 'Body Guard' looking for bodyguard to save from huge financial losses. According to trade reports it grossed $ 60K amounting to 30 lacs but movie cost along with shipping, transportation and prints costs itself amounted to 80lacs plunging the film makers in steep valley of losses. This came as a surprise for the film makers as they expected 'Bodyguard' to do considerably well but movie analysts say from the beginning they cautioned everyone about having high hopes about the film in overseas market. They attributed to delay in release of the film as many have seen Salman Khan's bollywood 'Body Guard' and many are aware of the story. Unless until the tollywood version created huge impact with in 3days of its release it was never expected to be cake walk for the film but it failed to do so against the high tide of 'Business Man' and was only swept away. It has to be seen how film makers wriggle out of the losses. |
