Friends, those of you eligible, please donate to your favorite US Presidential candidate's political fund. There are several good reasons to do so. 1) when the campaign funds are donated by small voters the candidates will be less influenced by big lobbyists. well, atleast in theory. 2) compared to india, where all political funding comes from hush hush and criminal sources, in US, it comes from transparent sources in small amounts. this is what keeps the US politics by and large cleaner compared to a country like India. 3) we, as in the indian community, are relatively well off community. but we do not really matter at all when it comes to policy making, compared to other asians. when we start contributing to the election funds, it sends two messages to the politicians : one we are useful to them, two we are watching them. day will come when they will court us. we will have participation in policies regarding the immigration, culture, relations with india, etc. So, please take a moment and write a check.
