Why do you think NFL got so much recognition?? Its coz of hard hitting. People love to see blood.. blood padaalsinde.. Superb article on NHL and a player position in ice hockey called Enforcer.
In last 6 months - 4 players died and all were enforcers - 3 committed suicide and 1 died of accidental overdose. There is an increasing concern among former enforcers and health experts that NHL Enforcers are more prone to CTE - chronic traumatic Encephalopathy. The only reason enforcers are employed is that crowd loves fighting and taking them away will only lead to decrease in game's popularity.
