Bill is not the kinda guy who is obsessed with money. Infact on the very first IPO of Apple, Jobs left his best friend Kotke without any shares. Bill gives him some of his shares. Most of them were just following the hippie culture like freewheeling etc. Their motto is everything must be free. They embraced anarchism. They used to share each others everything what they written. Gates unaware of this, presented his DOS which he written. Everyone neatly copied the paper and distributed themselves. Gates was mad that copying is like stealing and wrote a famous letter to the group. By this Jobs agreed and wanted to make money on what Wozniak written and thats where it all started. There is more to it. Once he stabilized apple with iPod after the return, he asked for shares. When he was offered 10million, he asked for 20million. And he wanted the shares to be backdated. This led to SEC investigation which was reported by AlGore [he was on the board of apple]. MS always had share into apple, i thought. There is some truth to why Jobs being rude to MS & Gates. MS products are not to Jobs standards and hence the detest. But Gates on other hand always kept his end of the promise. He said he will write the best apps for OS and he was the man to keep that promise. To me Gates is always a better person than Jobs. In this db, there's always someone watching you!! | ||

eKa: As someone in this DB once said, food intake is by far the biggest threat to our body as a whole system as we are exposing it to outside bacteria. Ofcourse it is where we get energy etc. But watching what we eat definitely helps. [Not that you dont know already] The thing with cancer is it is not from outside like virus or bacteria. It is within the body. Your body itself is producing all harmful cells. How could we even fight against our own body? As Walter [from Breaking Bad] says, its all Chemistry. One bond switch between C-O, C-N or N-O is enough for cancerous cells. Mutation/Chromosome/genetic coding and what ever that is. Look at Armstrong. Poor dude. I like jobs..but not getting surgery was not a brave thing or a planned event..it"s just that Steve did not have much faith in modern medicine and that is fuxckin stupid...mind u..he was trying all kinds of alternate medicine while he was postponing surgery and towards the end also repented not getting surgery much earlier... He felt that everything could be solved by having proper diet. His vegan diets, going on to fasts weeks at a time, only fruit juice diets for days. He says, if you eat vegan you dont have to use deodorant  . Infact he used to smell and some of them asked him to get out [in his early youth days]. He thought the same when tumors were found. Follow the diet and everything will go away [distortion field]. But after an year he regrets [per author] why he didnt go an year early. The way author described his struggles during the treatment, made me cry. If he had lived atleast five more years, we would have seen another revolution esp in school books as he was envisioning to change the school system. Human race lost a saviour. the #1 sad thing about Jobs is, he is not "greedy" in the common sense of that word. He is not greedy about making fame, name or being called a "nice guy". Heck, he is not even greedy about living a long life. He did not run and get a surgery done. He planned his death every day. Not sure how much truth in this but iPad concept happened way before iPhone. He wanted to get to phone and then come back to tablet pc. Infact it was one of the microsoft developer who put a seed in jobs brain on developing a tablet. It's just the semantics or definition of the word. It seems while he was lying in the hospital bed recovering from his liver transplant, he saw doctor after doctor lugging heavy laptops on their hands. he got out of the bed with determination, dusted off a shelved project and created iPad. that iPad will change many lives. it will create many artists, many musicians, many smart kids, and also will give a new meaning to the lives of blind and deaf people. check out Stevie Wonder's thanks to Steve Jobs how it helps the blind. the general idea that Jobs is not philanthropic is also not valid. his wife spends a lot of money on education related funds, which is obviously his money. having led an ascetic and somewhat monkish life (influenced by hindu/zen/budhism/mysticism) etc he perhaps never wanted to deal with money. he worked for $1 for apple. he did not have many shares also, he lost most of his shares when he was kicked out. relatively speaking he was actually a poor ceo. all opinions expressed are mine and only mine. not to be attributed to the other IP address sharers, my employer, or any other human, animal, robot or alien. | ||

Done with it. He was not a good father and may be not a great husband. But we got to give it him. He was CEO for two companies at the same time and had greater things in mind. He is not into philanthropy. That doesnt make him 'not' great human being. His contributions to this new age is unprecedented. Make no mistake - he is not inventor. Almost all ideas are not his. When the original inventors didnt get how to bring out a product to life aesthitically, he did it. He had an eye for talent and that made him what he is. He tried to take Scully's who was then CEO, who was infact hand picked by Jobs. This dude helped Pepsi to become a global cola giant. He was a marketing wiz annattu. And under his leadership, apple was going down and Jobs couldnt tolerate. Scully was more of a profit making dude who didnt understand the product development. When he completely lost it, Jobs wanted him to go way. Jobs was kinda harsh, rude and outright honest. His shouting and narcissistic attitude didnt gel well. Ofcourse the end result - When scully left apple share was 13$. I think in less than year, it went to 50+ as soon as Jobs took over. He was good to A grade developers/artists but was in his worst behaviour when it comes to less than A grade. He was not at all cunning. In this db, there's always someone watching you!! | ||

Things you might not know about Jobs: His biological father is a syrian born muslim - Abdulfattah Jandali. He helped Adobe in the initial stages and it didnt help Jobs out when needed. He invested in Pixar ~50mill and sold it to Disney for a whopping 7Billion [in shares]. It is Pixar who saved Disney Animation department from Toy Story to Up. Before reading the book, I thought what is there to read about Jobs that I didnt knew already? Completely wrong. Each and every page in this book is a revelation about him and his life. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would have salty discharge from my eyes when reading a 'book'? I am damned! Jobs and Gates conversations and opinions about each other are quite funny. He is the messiah of the current digital world. From PC to Toy Story, he saw things that no one saw. He was not even the creator of PC technology or movie animation. He had this uncanny ability to foresee the future. He is the master of design. Truly inspiring story.
