This tell me the webservice is invoing an object which is null If you have handle on the webservices then it is easy.... If not then who ever wrote it did a very bad job handling the exception I would start from the input you are sending to the webservice. May be you are not sending enough information. | ||

Thammi, looks like your remote system is either down, not available or not accepting the connection. first check your remote service is still running or not. it is using apache axis package http://ws.apache.org/axis/ like someone already said, if you have the source and project files, open it in an IDE like netbeans and debug it with a break point. where is this running? in an appserver like tomcat/jboss or a report or jar file or what is the caller? all opinions expressed are mine and only mine. not to be attributed to the other IP address sharers, my employer, or any other human, animal, robot or alien. | ||

if you are sending the xml message by generating it dynamically. system.out the xml file and check. I will try this brother...My initial thoughts were the webservice which was hosted on a remote server was throwing that fault code...just heard from them that env was refreshed recently...looking into it from that perspective too | ||

Try to see the way the program is starting: You can remote debug the application by using the following parameters: -Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,supend=n,address=8765 You should then use the eclipse to set up the debug options by selecting Debug-> Remote application Connection Type:Standard(Socket attach) Host:localhost port:8765 Try putting the breakpoints and see why you are getting the null pointer. It seems like somewhere in the code you are invoking a function on a null reference.I am surprise that the exception you have did not print the stack trace. | ||
