this is what i know on data driven testing... oka script raastham...which is like a skeleton and is same for all bodies.. oka hundred customers, accounts id, balances ni test cheyali...daaniki hundered scripts raayavasina pani ledhu...oka script raasi...accountid, customer name, balances values ni parameterize cheyali accountid, customer name, balances values anni excel or notepad lo enter chesi vundaali script lo excel or notepad location mention chestham...it will submit all the values in the script and tests for all 100 customers in no given time. | ||

need expertise in scripting. I tried with QTP 10, in which they introduced WebServices testing as Add-on. Not tried 11. Go through Readme doc. May be it works with less efforts | ||

One more option.....there are lot of tools to build XML request from Excel. You can use those tools (if requires buy) and copy/paste the request to your SOAP UI. You can build excel from a XML source (feature in Excel 2007) And also enable the Developer tab in Excel 2007 and try Import/Export feature to build XML. -3mar | ||

We can use SOAP UI for performance testing also. But LR is the best tool for monitoring the performance at all layers (App server, DB server, Oracle, UI, API, Network, ) and analyzing the transactions performance individually and cross. | ||

not possible with free tool. I haven't explored Pro fully. Better go for copy, paste the request and change data. Moreover I tried with QTP for webservices testing by fetching data from Excel.My friend (expert) developed scripts to read the data from excel (columns as elements and rows/cells as data input) and building an soap request. But even that also not that much comfortable. Needs lots of maintenance in case of change in request/service (optional/mandatory). | ||

Use SOAP UI tool free version. For more features go for SOAP UI Pro tool. You need to specify the WSDL and it will display all services and operations underneath that published WSDL. It is very easy to build request as it gives you mock request with all tags. And also you can to mock testing. It allows you to do Assertion based testing and also automates all reqeusts and run as suite and publish results. all XML -3mar | ||

OT, long ago I used JMeter for unit testing. here is the sample.
