I wanted to buy and read this version to see what has hurt/offended the Russians. So far, for me Bhagavad Gita meant only Ghantasala rendition. This is a good time to get exposed to the long version. I have my own doubts on "As it is" written by Prabhupada. I was reading a few verses everyday after doing vishu sahasra nama at brahma muhurtam. I was shocked to read a verse in 10th chapter http://www.bhagavad-gita.us/articles/285/1/Bhagavad-Gita-102 1/Page1.html See this verse and its interpretation by Prabhupada. He is absolutely wrong. I went to experts and I got a convincing answer. "Nakshatra" doesnt mean star. It only means a shiny object in the sky. Prabhupada went to the extent of saying Vedas do not believe that stars emit light of their own. I was shockked when I read it. | ||
