50miles+ anedi when you have a perm home and a temp stay like in motel/apt. Basic gaa show that you are incurring costs to work like paying two rents or mortgage on home and rent for an apt or motel. Air travel is also per diemable. Say you went to conference for a week.. all the costs for this are per diemable, if your employer doesnt cover the costs.
