Ceded Districts is the name of an area in the Deccan, India that was 'ceded' to the British East India Company by the Nizam in 1800. The name is still in sparse current use.

After the defeat and death of Tipu Sultan in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War at Srirangapattanam (Seringapatam), the Mysooru (Mysore) territories (Map[1]) were divided up between the Wodeyars, the Nizam and the British East India Company.

In 1796 AD, the then Nizam Asaf Jah II, harassed by the Marathas and Tipu Sultan, opted to get British military protection under Lord Wellesley's doctrine of Subsidiary Alliance. Now, as a part of this agreement, the Nizam ceded a large portion of the acquired territory to the British, to be added to the Madras Presidency. This area was also known as the Ceded Districts, a term still used for the areas, and included the present day Bellary district, Kadapa (Cuddapah), Anantapuram, parts of Davanagere (Harapanahalli taluk), and much of Karnoolu (Kurnool)[2].

nizam had deal with british. They protect nizam from other kingdoms and nizam pays royalty. In order to pay royalty, he gave them current RS to british thats why they are called ceeded even today. There was some support of independence and struggle in Nizam also for india. this is on assumption that once british leaves india, Nizam losses its protection figure and will cancel his princely state. that did not happen and Indian govt has to send army to take overt it forcibly

Rajanna is an inspiring youngster who fights with British for the independence. He has four good friends (a Muslim, a Maharashtrian, a Punjabi and a Tamilian). They fight british with their own kind of warfare. When India becomes independent, they decide to bury their weapons and live a peaceful life. While returning to his home place, Rajanna witnesses atrocities being committed by landlords (doralu) and a few rajakars. He realises that there is no freedom though the british left India. In stead of fighting on his own, Rajanna decides to create revolution by involving village-men. The rest of the story is about how guru inspires Mallamma to fight back and what happens next.

Sanman:

no. T did not have any part in independence struggle. they did not even get independence when India became independent. they had their own struggle against nizam rule and razakars. communist leaders from A lended their support to T in this case. not sure how extensive but the support was there.

hmm. that makes sense. But in this story Nag fought against British.
I think they are trying to play it safe by distorting the history

I dont know why they are scared to make Nizam a villian.
