Guess who is more anxiously waiting for the expansion of Dr Manmohan Singh cabinet? Well, it is not exactly megastar-Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi, but his brother-in-law Allu Aravind. The PRP camp is of strong hope that Chiranjeevi would be inducted into the Central cabinet along with Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Ajit Singh in New Delhi on Wednesday. Though there are no indications from the Centre to that effect, the PRP ranks are confident that Chiranjeevi would be called to New Delhi at the eleventh hour. Once Chiranjeevi gets into the central cabinet, he has to automatically resign from his Tirupati assembly seat. And if everything goes well as per the schedule, this seat will also be clubbed with 25 other seats for the by-elections to be held in early 2012. The by-elections for these seats are being necessitated by the disqualification of 18 MLAs, resignation of six others and death of one independent MLA. According to party sources, Chiranjeevi will recommend the name of his brother in law Allu Aravind for the Tirupati seat. In fact, the megastar desperately tried for either Rajya Sabha ticket or even the MLC ticket for Aravind, but he could not succeed. Now that Chiranjeevi group is in commanding position in the state, he can easily recommend Aravind for Tirupati assembly seat. It is a different matter whether Aravind would be able to win the seat facing tough contest from YSR Congress party’s most probable candidate Bhumana Karunakar Reddy. |
