if you do not have external flash, use external light source (instead of flash on the camera) to illuminate the subject. This will take care of the reflection problem as well. | ||

Use an external flash and bounce the light off of ceiling. That way, you will not get any reflections in eye wear. | ||

when you shoot portraits in outdoor harsh day light, using fill flash softens and knocks off the shadows around nose, eye-hollows etc. fill flash is not a bad technique to use. all opinions expressed are mine and only mine. not to be attributed to the other IP address sharers, my employer, or any other human, animal, robot or alien. | ||

I prefer taking all my photos without flash because of this among other reasons. The sheer unnaturalness of a flash puts me off. If you like a composition, you should be able to take a pic, tinkering with the composition just to avoid glare pinches the heart. | ||

is it glare or reflection of lights? Both are different. Glare is the shiny light that makes the real colors hidden. examples, water under sun, leaves and grass in the sun. For this you need a polarizer. reflection of light is usually a spot of light in the eyes or spects. for this, you need to remove the source of light, change the angle. UV does not cut the glare. it generally removes the foggy feel in outdoor shoots. UV does not matter to the CCD, it is more of a problem to the chemical based film. being the cheapest filter (just plain optical glass) people still use it on digs also to protect the lenses. all opinions expressed are mine and only mine. not to be attributed to the other IP address sharers, my employer, or any other human, animal, robot or alien. | ||
