Yep and evammana serious problems vaste system ki i just ask my nephew who lives near by to take a look at it. But thats like once a year or so. You need a very low level set up cause it just for chatting and viewing, but buy a nice web cam though. | ||

for example, can he program a VCR? can he do an SMS? can he use a digital camera and take pictures? can he use an ATM type machine, if so he can train. probably he cannot do them, because he has more people to help him that we can count! ask him to hire a laptop operator. problem solved :-) | ||

They dont need any help...This is how i set u brought a low level pc in india...set it up with basic webcam setup. Installed teamviewer (you can use any other softwaer). My mom and dad are not interested at all in the pc nor do they want to use it. So when we have to chat, i just ask them to start the pc and i take care of starting all of them up from here. Once done i shut down. Thats all. Has been working for me really cool. | ||

Kashtam chittesh. Maa dad ki Keybd Mouse raavu. he is 70. When he came to USA, we used to open a web site like Eenadu, AJ, and he could use the mouse to read the site. It took him a week to learn. He retired as High School Principal. But I cannot imagine him able to boot, login, launch a Windows/OSX email/video app and use it. It has to be simple like an iPad. But tablets have Keyboard issues. Only thing that would work for people above 70, is the voice activation. Entirely Voice based computer. But then, they won't be able to speak in American/British accent. Sigh. | ||

oka tip: find out which laptop has the best local service. I wnet by HP because, my uncle's town has a good HP service. Otherwise, buy anything 300-500 range. It need not be the fastest machine. They will enjoy a large screen, though. | ||
