Annaiah as in Chiranjeevi? As his career rose, I left AP, first to Delhi then to BLR and then abroad. Hence did not get to see him a lot. The first movie I watched him was, Idi Kadha Kaadu (Vanta kaadu Penta dialog fame), he did so well, I did not want to see another movie of his ever :-) He did so well. Next movie was Manchu Pallaki, then some Viswanath movie, then Indra and Tagore. Rebel Star Krishnam Raju - great actor, good hits, but bad movie selection. all these actors' biggest strategical mistake was trying to avoid direct competition with NTR, ANR and Krishna. Thats how they got cornered into a narrow range and got less and less opportunities. one or two bad choices for KR like Manavoori Pandavulu casted him as a character actor. Chandra Mohan built his career as a high-return safe investment hero. there were no flops for him. so, he never moved out of his safety net. moreover he was never tried for action movies. Shobhan Babu - lacked the killer instinct. his niche was as the ladies man. he did not get too many opportunities out side that realm either. he had to fight hard to stay between ANR and other soft role heroes like Murali Mohan and Chandra Mohan. Murali Mohan - entered too late. For his effort and talent, he has done very well, mostly through hard work, personal integrity and work ethic. none of these three should complain. they did very well. you cannot really compare them with NTR, ANR and Krishna for hard work, talent and competitiveness. NTR made DVSK in 53 days, acting multuple roles and directing. He is a workaholic. Krishna released 10 movies in a calendar year, another workaholic. ANR got to the sets straight from hospital bed after heart surgery. another dedicated professional. hats off to their professionalism, dedication and work ethic. they did not do that for money. compared to the present, they made very little money. esp. Raju garoo, we may be just a few years apart. the way Masrshall took over smoothly from Andy Roberts and Mike Holding is legendary. I remember the 1983 series in india. Marshall was unplayable. Do you remember Dennis Lillee and Thompson duo? I regret that I was too young when Sobers played his last Series.
