Kiran May Get Nod For Cabinet Expansion Now that the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has defeated the opposition-sponsored no-confidence motion in the Assembly, the ruling Congress is sending out discreet signals that the cabinet expansion would take place shortly. In addition, the nominated posts will also be filled up soon. This has raised the hopes of the party leaders, waiting in the wings for a long time. The party leaders feel that the time has come for rewarding loyalty. Moreover, the members of the erstwhile Praja Rajyam Party have to be rewarded with cabinet berths in return for their support to the government during the testing period. The Chief Minister will be hosting a dinner for his cabinet colleagues on Tuesday where he is likely to speak out his mind on the issue. It is said that Kiran is keen on reconstituting his team by the end of this month. He is waiting for the nod from Delhi bosses. Once he gets the green signal, he will go for the rejig. There is speculation that the Chief Minister is keen on getting rid of the controversial ministers Dr P Shankar Rao and Dr D L Ravindra Reddy in the reshuffle. At least, two of the erstwhile PRP legislators will be accommodated in the cabinet. The vacancies created by the exit of Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Jupalli Krishna Rao and Y S Vivekananda Reddy will also be filled up.
