simba babai.. some opensource application unnai.. just keep on running in your computer .. it will update the website ip address as and when ISP changes your ip address. there might be little delay but it works 99%.. inka me provider vadiki teliyanukuda teliyadu if you website hits are less | ||

Not necessary. The ISPs are free to renew your IP at their whims, to consolidate the IP pools. If your public IP changes, your domain name will point to nowhere. Most ISPs give users a static IP, if they are subscribed to higher tier. In my case, cablevision gives static ip if you are Boost/Boost+ subscriber. For standard subscription, they don't guarantee static ip.
That is what I said. I need higher upload speeds to host a website at home.

Simba.. Your dynamic ip would not change until your mac address does not change. Server keeping your dynamic ip tied to you as long as your live with isp. so you can easily register your ip with any website. Next your upload speed is other download speed. so that upload speed required for website hosting should be satisfied. at same time .. ni agreement lo untadi.. this connection should not be used for any commercial uses..ani | ||

They have Basic (Standard), Boost and Boost Plus. 1 year ago, nenu already Boost ki upgrade chesanu (paying $9.95 more). For Boost users, upgrade to Boost Plus is free. For Basic users, you need to pay extra to get Boost/Boost+ | ||

Couple of new features I found in Cablevision service. 1) Media Link: You can share your home PC via media link. It will upload the video-out of the PC and stream back via cable to you. You can tune cable set-top boxes to some channel (641) and see the PC video. There is little lag, but works for someone who wants to PC video on TV. (I have a dedicated HTPC connected to TV, so don't need this feature) 2) Optimum App for iPad: Install the app for iPad and watch *all* the channels on iPad. Very convenient. | ||
