if you follow the cycle i described, why would your 401K go up? It would stay the same or go down. Basically your 401K contribution is going into the short account of your fund house. you stay the same. NET is BEANS ( I use netbeans tool, hence the cruel comedy). money to the fund manager.

Iam playing with vxx and tna from the last 6 months... Buying stock and holding it for long time concept gone from the present market conditions... I may be wrong... Iam holding stocks or êtfs only for short term from like 2 to 4 weeks...holding till Fridays and write covered calls or puts on Friday for next week is my game plan... I don't know the market sentiment for next week.. I am looking for some kind of predictions or some kind of expert opinions for next week's sentiment...

problem with this type of activity is its effect on career and your mood/health. aside from that, if you are making money, continue. this cannot be done in an IRA, so you need an IRA strategy also.

Good time to buy vxx again... I think it's time to play with volatility... Waiting for Friday job report and buy the puts on the stock I own or thinking to write covered calls.. I am in dilemma... Any suggestions...

i am not an expert on volatility stuff, but what makes sense is adding to your stock every time it falls in small amounts.

also, buy stocks whose yield shoots above 10% when the market drops, and deploy about 100K in them so that you can make a cool 1K every month, and use that to reinvest. in about 15 years it could become a Million.

the way markets are working is like this:

we all contribute to 401K. the money goes to the funds. they acuumulate a couple of cycles in cash. then they buy in one big frenzy. move the indexes up about 15%. all fools like I and you will join the fest, another 10% up.

then the fund houses nicely short the market in their own account. then they dont buy for 2 or 3 cycles to repeat the above step. in the meantime, they set impossibly high whisper numbers on some of those stocks that went up step1 above. then the results come, they sell, the short account makes a lot of money.

wash. rinse. repeat.

Fed, ECB offer aid to global financial system

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Europe's hurting for cash, and central banks around the world are stepping in to give it a boost.

The Federal Reserve, along with five other central banks, acted Wednesday to make it cheaper for banks around the world to borrow U.S. dollars.
