PS3 controller works over bluetooth where as Harmony remote on IR. So, not compatible. If you buy and connect IR-Bluetooth adapter to PS3, then it will work.

can you control PS3 also with that? How about AVR ? Can we control all the functions of AVR with this? Don't say you don't have enough time. @Humpty, You can do the following. * Get the external drive and connect to the laptop. Let's say, it shows up as D:\ drive * Create a folder D:\media\movies * You already have uTorrent running on the laptop. Open Options -> Preferences -> Directories * Set "Move completed downloads to" to D:\media\movies. Click OK. * Download and Install TVersity for free. * Click Library Tab. Click "+ Add Item". * Choose Type as Folder. Folder as "D:\media\movies". Give title as Movies. Save. * Make sure your Tversity Server is running. * On PS3, go to Movies in XMB interface. It scans and finds the Tversity as a media server. * Open Tversity and navigate to the movie you want. It should just play. Optionally, you can tweak few settings on Tversity under Advanced, to make stream for PS3. You are all set. | ||

ok here is what i have a 7 yr old laptop which i can afford to run 24/7 I run utorrent client on it continuously ...nothing else right now I am looking to buy a new external HDD since my previous one died...will mostly buy WD mybook I want to keep this HDD connected to either this laptop or ps3..to update/access my media what are the solutions? laptop nee media server gaa expose chesthay, will it be able to share content from external drive?( i never tried this external option) wireless router nee upgrade chedhaam anukuntunna...but not immediate HDD nee router through accessible chesay option untay adi better antaara? | ||

Switch to TV in Device mode (instead of Activity mode). All the TV buttons are available on Harmony remote. If you want more control, you can create short cuts. | ||

you need to jailbreak (for lack of better word) your ps3 running 3.41 firmware, to support ntfs formatted drive. If you had upgraded ps3 firmware to latest, then you are S.O.L For me, I never connect any external hard disk to PS3. I have shared drives on my PC that are readable by PS3. I drill drown the network folders from PS3 and copy the file to PS3 hard disk, if needed. Easy way to read NTFS formatted drive via network, than hard connection. | ||

I use Harmony one.. one of my best buys. can control virtually anything including audio control for imac.
