Oh..ok. So the 40$ was due on 07/2007. And it was reported to the agency in 10/2007. Letters from the medical lab and from Collection agency must have been sent to your old address, sincce you say u moved in 08/2007. THis is what you can do: 1. In you credit report itself. Near to this collection item there will be a link which says "Dispute this item" or something like that. Click on that and submit the dispute form saying that you moved on 08/2007 and didnot recieve any communication from the original creditor nor from the collection agency. Infact experian has "Change of address" as an item in the reason dropdown menu for Dispute form. If you submit, there are good chances that they will remove it. You will get an email in few days about their decision. 2. If that doesn't work, you can get the phone number of Collection Agency by googling..http://www.cmrefsi.com/contactus.html(and talk to them. Refer to the account number in the credit report,( donot give extra information like SSN.) Tell them you had moved and so didnot recieve any letters from them and if they can get rid of the item from credit report if you pay the 43 dollars. I am confident one of these will work. It worked for me.Good luck. Even if it doesn't do not worry too much about it. Let me know how it goes or you need more info. | ||

It is not necessary for a collection agency to report to all 3. Eppudu medical report of gurthu vunda? Usually before they report any collection agency will send collection notices. If this is the first time you heard about it, you might not have seen these notices. Is address change reason for not being able to see those notices? Or you guess you might have mistaken it for junk mail and threw it away? | ||

Check out the reports you will know kadha. Could be something you can get rid off easily. If you need any help after you check the report. Post here... These days some collection agents are doing nasty things. Say for eg. you owe a hospital some 15 dollars 4,5 years ago in copay. You moved to a different town, the hospital doesn't have resources to chase you and make you pay. So vallu they sell all such bulk debts as a pool to collection agencies. If by the time collection agency buys this debt, it is 6 years. They can't ask you to pay. Usually for these kind of debts they can't go after you for 6 years. But ea lafoot collection agencies , vallu debt konna roju date esi, report chestaru. So that they can go after you till another 6 years. It's called 'ReAging' old debts. This is illegal. But these people do. If such a thing happens you can threaten them in writing, they will fold up | ||

If you carry the card it will show the past payment defaults : Eg. No. of times 30days late :2 etc. Even though the last late payment was more than 6 yrs. But the older the late payment the lesser it's negative impact. On contrary if card is close in 6 years this account will not appear at all | ||

Average length of a revolving account is just one parameter. If you close a one that has negative on it.. it far outweighs the negative caused by slight reduction in avg. time of revolving accounts, especially if it is one of multiple cards.Otherwise if the account is active it will still show under accounts with problems visible to lenders. No..if you explicitly close the card,then it should appear as closed on customer request on teh credit report.. if they close on their own it appears differently on the report when it becomes negative | ||

Never ever close the credit card. Thats also has some negative impact. This is not an universal fact meaning not all credit unions carry the same algorithm but its not advisable to close the credit card but go and just suspend it for sometime. | ||

If you are not using that close the card after you payoff. It is a drag on your credit history to carry it. If you close within 6 yrs it will fall off the report. If not the late payment will continue to appear though the impact is negligible | ||

Never ever be late on Store Cards. They are the first in queie to screw up your credit history. Late payments eppudu pettukovaddhu. Definitely will effect your credit history, score what not everything. Try to avoid them. | ||
