A Buy-stop order is placed above the current market price. A Sell-stop order is placed below the current price (to protect a profit or limit a potential loss). A Stop loss order automatically becomes a Market order when the stop price is reached. Therefore, there is no guarantee that your order will be executed at the stop price.
