The Enforcement Directorate has issued summons to Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to appear before it at its New Delhi headquarters, either in person or through a representative by November 28, regarding the money laundering case booked against him. The ED had registered a case of money laundering based on the Central Bure-au of Investigation’s FIR that had alleged diversion of funds to the YSR Congress president’s firms by his investors as part of a quid pro quo arrangement when his father YSR was the chief minister. Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to send a representative with a power of attorney to submit documents and answer questions on his behalf at the ED headquarters on or before November 28. Responding to a petition by the textiles minister, Dr Shankar Rao, the AP High Court had asked law enfor-cement agencies to probe the alleged money laundering case. A case was filed against Jagan Mohan Reddy in the last week of August this year under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act  |
