Officer Fausto Lopez, 35, of Miami was handcuffed at gunpoint earlier this month and charged with second-degree reckless driving, a misdemeanor, according to the highway patrol's offense report. The law is pretty strict, too. He faces a fine of $411, police say. He did pull over immediately and cooperate with officers, a police spokesman said. If not, he could have been arrested. To make matters worse, nearly everyone in West Seattle has been warned this week that police have been monitoring the bridge and citing those who are using the bus-only lane to speed up their viaductless commute. Friday, police cited 13 for being in the bus lane, three for not having insurance and three for having expired vehicle licenses. |
