Emirates to connect Hyderabad with new destinations in US, Russia HYDERABAD, OCT. 24: Airline operator Emirates plans to add new destinations in the US and Russia from Hyderabad via Dubai in the next few months, anticipating a pick up in demand growth after a brief period of sluggish market in the last few weeks. Immediately on its radar are daily services from Hyderabad to Dallas and Seattle via Dubai. “We have finalised plans to launch the Dallas service on February 2, 2012 and the Seattle service on March 1,” Mr K.P. Venugopal, Emirates Sales Manager, Andhra Pradesh, told Business Line. For both the services, the airline will deploy different versions of Boeing 777 aircraft, including the model that has a seating capacity of 428. “Our market estimates are that there are about 1,500 passengers flying to Dubai and Seattle each every month from Hyderabad. The passengers mostly include corporate travellers and visiting friends and family members,” he said. The inaugural offer in the economy class has been fixed at Rs 52,900 (return fare) to Dallas, and Rs 56,550 to Seattle. Also included in its plans are to connect Hyderabad to St Petersburg and Baghdad in November this year and Buenos Aires and Rio in January next year. Currently, the airline has a capacity of about 5,500 from Hyderabad every week. “We will be expanding the capacity as demand picks up. We saw a sluggish phase this month, mostly due to shortening of the holiday period as a result of the political situation in the State. We expect the demand to peak in the December-January period,” Mr Venugopal said. Emirates operates 185 flights a week from 10 airports in India, including Mumbai (five), Delhi (four) and Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad (three each). The airline, which has 16 A 380s and another 75 on order for its global operations, has no plans to deploy this aircraft in India. The airline is betting big on traffic from Hyderabad picking up, despite the international airport operator charging taxes worth Rs 4,265 a ticket, as against Rs 2,398 in Chennai airport and Rs 3,460 in Bangalore airport. “The high tax structure here (Hyderabad international airport) has seen some diversion of traffic to neighbouring Chennai and Bangalore airports from some cities in the State,” he said. | ||

lufthansa ended their service, so is KLM long before, only british airways from london , is the only flight that is a direct connection I believe. Or you have to come from gulf countries.. Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai are the only convinient airports , HYD is not from US | ||

New schedules NewDelhi - Air India is launching a new service from Delhi, starting October 30. The flight would operate via Hyderabad. Mumbai - Jet Airways, will introduce a direct flight from Mumbai to Gannavaram next month. Arrive here at around 3.30 pm and leave for Hyderabad at 3.45 pm, from where it would reach Mumbai at 6.05 pm. The wish of traders from the commercial capital of the state, Vijayawada, to get connected with metros of the country is coming true, with several flight operators deciding to introduce new flights to Gannavaram airport. Encouraged by the increased passenger flow from Gannavaram airport, Air India is launching a new service from Delhi, starting October 30. The 122-seater flight would touch the tarmac at the renovated airport in the next 10 days. "The schedule will be announced a day before the official launch," a senior official of the Airports Authority of India said. The flight would operate via Hyderabad. The private airliner, Jet Airways, will introduce a direct flight from Mumbai to Gannavaram next month. Chamber of Commerce president M Muralikrishna said the private airlines have responded positively to their pleas to operate a flight to Mumbai. As per the initial schedule, the flight will arrive here at around 3.30 pm and leave for Hyderabad at 3.45 pm, from where it would reach Mumbai at 6.05 pm. In addition to the Mumbai flight, Jet Airways has also agreed to operate a flight between Vijayawada and Vizag. The Gannavaram airport, which was in limbo till last year, will finally witness a rush of flights, including choppers, in the coming months. The airport, which had only one flight to Hyderabad a few months ago, has five flights a day taking off to various destinations. While Jet Airways is operating a flight to Hyderabad (2.30 pm), Kingfisher Airlines is operating two -- Hyderabad (1.30 pm) and Bangalore (12.30 pm). Spice Jet is operating two flights to Hyderabad -- one in the morning (8.30 am) and another in the evening (5.30 pm). "It is heartening to see that our city is getting connected with metros. This will help boost the trade here," said M Rajaiah, promoter of a top hotel group. The IT Park in the city is likely to attract more companies in the wake of better air connectivity. located at the IT Park near the airport are redesigning their business plans, keeping in view the burgeoning flight traffic. The IT Park, which houses only four units at present, is also likely to attract more companies once more flights starts operating. |
