Tip optional chesthe service dhobbuddhi. But, I agree in one thing, maree intha discrepancy petta koodhadu min wage reg employees ki, tip batch ki. Ee desam lo any manual labor ki tip ivvatam anavayithi ayipoyindi. Waiter, barber, taxi etc |

Keko_keka: atta ante etla bhayya.... asale bachelor gaallam
The other day I took my wife to PFchanges...we were waiting outside of the restaurant for 45 minutes until we were called inside..... The bill was about $52. That would make the tip $12.5 at 15%.. $15 tip for waiting tables is ridiculous...I would rather pay the tip to a college going kid who works her ass off in the restaurant. |

Dma:Instead of this tip crap, they should make restaurant workers also same as regular workers with $7.35 and increase the food price accordingly.
you really don't need to increase the food price. they don't complain about the minimum wage as long as tips are allowed. now if you want to make it mandatory, it opens up a can of worms. what about fast food joints. they dont get tips. what about other service businesses like hair salons and massage parlors. why special treatment for food service businesses etc. either way i think it is a bad move and it will tip at least 25% people in favor of not eating out thus losing both tips and business (jobs) Andhra vaallu T back ward vaallani develop chesaru...vidya, vyavasayam, vaidyam anni nerpincharu... - Vjawarrior |

I fundamentally do not understand why this min salary discrepancies for restaurant workers. For those who dont know, in US, minimum wage for tipped employees is $2.13 vs $7.35. http://www.paywizard.org/main/Minimumwageandovertime/Minimum WageTIPRecevers Instead of this tip crap, they should make restaurant workers also same as regular workers with $7.35 and increase the food price accordingly. Make TIP optional so there is no confusion. |

http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2011/10/13/san-francisco-re staurants-want-to-make-25-standard-tip-rate/ SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF/99.7 Now) – It’s a question many of us ask when we go out to a restaurant. “How much should I tip?” Whether your service is good or bad, San Francisco Restaurant workers want to implement a 25% standard tip onto your bill for you. Is this fair? Many in the food industry say “…yes, it’s about time.” However, many “foodies” are not as happy with the idea. According to an article in the San Jose Mercury News, for the most part, people, on average tip between 15% – 20% and the restaurant worker actually has to claim 15% of that to the IRS. |
