Saifabad police filed non-bailable cases against Telangana Rastra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao, Telangana Employees JAC leaders Swamy Goud and C Vittal on the charges of making instigating speeches and creating rift between people from different regions in the state. The police are preparing ground to arrest KCR and the other two. The police dug out a two-week old statement of KCR, which he had made while addressing a meeting of the Telangana electricity employees union at Mint Compound last month. "KCR had called for physical attacks on Congress MPs and MLAs for not resigning from their posts for the sake of separate Telangana," the police said in the FIR. The TRS president was booked under section 153 (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) of the Indian Penal Code, the police said. On the other hand, Vittal and Swamy Gowd were charged with instigating the police personnel of the Telangana region to join the agitation and revolt against the government. |
