goer-sues-claiming-Drive-movie-trailer-misleading.html

Most of us take hi-octane movie trailers with a pinch of salt, accepting they spoil the film and show us all the best bits.

But one woman, who has had enough of the fiction of film previews, has filed a lawsuit against the distributors of the movie Drive- because she claims its trailer is misleading.

Sarah Deming of Michigan is suing distributor FilmDistrict Distribution LLC as well as the cinema where she watched the Ryan Gosling action thriller.
Star attraction: The Michigan woman is suing distributor FilmDistrict Distribution LLC as well as the cinema where she watched the Ryan Gosling action thriller

Deming's suit claims that FilmDistrict and Emagine cincema in Novi, Michigan violated the state's Consumer Protection Act by promoting the movie as a' 'race action film…similar to the Fast and Furious, or similar, series of movies,' WDIV-TV in Detroit reported.

Drive 'bore very little similarity to a chase, or race action film ... having very little driving in the motion picture,' states the lawsuit.

The claim also alleges anti-Semitism.

Deming wants her money back, and says she intends to turn her individual lawsuit into a class action to bring an end to misleading film previews.

The distributor says that customers unsatisfied with the film can get a refund.
