Congress Prime Minister in-waiting Rahul Gandhi is succeeded in opening dialogue with Karnataka BJP strongmen Gali Janardhana Reddy who is now landed in jail. Keeping eye on next general elections, Rahul Gandhi emissaries discussed with Gali Janardhana Reddy and obtained assurance to support his candidature. With that assurance, Rahul Gandhi promised to dilute CBI case against Janardhan Reddy. Rahul Gandhi's close associate and UP Congress leader Deepak Babaria was in Hyderabad for three days. His main mission was to get truce with Janardhan Reddy. He met several close associates of Janardhan Reddy. After reaching an understanding, CBI has deputed its additional director Balvinder Singh to Hyderabad. According sources he had collected copies of several key documents related to Gali Janardhan Reddy and taken them to Delhi. Interestingly, the senior Supreme Court advocate Lalith Uday, who argued for Janardhan Reddy's bail petition was CBI's special prosecutor in 2 G scam. He was specially appointed by the Court to assist the CBI in 2 G spectrum case, though this appointment was opposed by the Center. The same lawyer, has argued against CBI supporting Gali Janardhan Reddy's bail petition. These developments are indicating, Rahul Gandhi has directed for dilution of CBI case against Janardhan Reddy. He may be remaining behind bars for some time. But before next general elections, Congress is expecting all support from Janardhan Reddy in Karnataka for Rahul Gandhi. |
