Entikaburlu:What is this VT hassle? Ubuntu/OSX lo emi cheyali?
VT (Virtualization Technology) is a feature supported by the underlying Processor (CPU). All the latest Intel CPUs support VT. VT is set/controlled via BIOS settings and is independent of OS. Start your PC, before it boots, hit F12 (or some other F-key) to enter BIOS settings. Navigate through menus and enable VT (it is OFF by default). If you are running VirtualBox, then it takes advantage of processor's VT at hardware level, if set in BIOS. It appears as VirtualBox makes it mandatory to set VT, to install Windows 8 in VM. It was not the case while I installed other OS. As you know, Apple wants to make your life harder. They have something called EFI in place of BIOS on Apple hardware. Editing EFI to enable VT is adventurous and risky. Google for more help. As an alternative, use VMWare WorkStation instead of VirtualBox to do Windows 8 setup. VMWare released latest updates to WorkStation to support Windows 8. It does not need VT enabled on processor. |
