Use NRE. Simple rule to follow is, anytime you want to send money to India, send using NRE. It will make it easier to repatriate. I think you will need PAN card for everything nowadays, so get it. It is quite easy. Use NRO to deposit any sundries you get in India which can be used to spend when you are on vacation. You can not deposit money into NRE in India. That's why you need the NRO. | ||

i don't have a pancard. I want to buy a property in india and so would be taking aloan from a bank in india. i would be paying mortgage from that bank from here. so this is my use case. This real estate is for sale. | ||

If you buy any property, mutual funds etc using NRE, you can bring them back without RBI permit. otherwise you need RBI permit. But you cannot deposit any income generated in India into NRE a/c without justification paperwork), so for that you would need NRO. NRO gets higher rate than NRE. But NRE gives exchange rate profit if Rupee appreciated. So, it is better to have both. | ||
