concerns are real. but they said the same thing about insurance, automobiles, banks, etc, so hopefully this will also just pass. we cannot pass time by protecting the trade flow. the sooner you open up the better it is. | ||

Walmart is a little different from clothes shopping. Groceries is a daily/weekly/monthly event. so, unlikely that everyone in entire Krishna Dt will get up everyday and got Walmart to buy soaps and oil. The difference is the population and the scale. There will be so many people Walmart cannot serve. So, there won't be a big disruption I believe. But Walmart will bring 100s of jobs if not thousands. They will also spur competition. Companies like Amazon and Prologis will follow them. I also like the fact that they are starting with 2-tier cities like Vij, so realestate will even out. I am hoping this would be on Eluru route. Bro you may not see the impact immediately but over a period of time it will effect. Na chinnapudu we used to go to a cloth store and buy cloth...sometimes shirt pieces in one shop and pant pieces in one shop and then go to a tailor and get them stitched....Shops anni kita kita ladeyi....Today they are very very slow because many are going to Central or some mall.... Ma vurulo 4-5 batala kottulu vundevi last time i checked there were 2..enti antey most of the people prefer ready made...even if these shops have started ready made one one prefers them.... Walmart story kuda antey bro...slowly you squeez the small business because you have money to advertise and get better rates from vendors.... I doubt it. Indian market place is totally weird. It is hard to kill a street corner vendor. They are all in one service providers, so they will adapt and survive. on the other hand, Walmart is good for upper strata. as long as social tiers exist in india, small scale vendors will exist. | ||

chaala lucky - I almost bought NetFlix twice and refrained at the last minute, first it was because of Starz, then it was because of Amazon Prime. Then decided to wait till this results, so just watching. if I really bought what would I have done now, is an interesting to ponder over. probably I would have stuck with it, even though not wise. if the underlying company is sound, you can sit it out, but NFLX is a tough call. Google, Amzn, AAPL, all did this one time or other, they recovered very well. been there. On the other hand, Verifone and Akamai did it and did not recover. been there too. | ||

They never pay better prices bro to vendors or farmers..they actually bring down the prices..They will try to bring down the labor costs... I strongly feel walmart as a company will benefit more than the community or the people of vijayawada | ||
