Group fights in colleges over Telugu heroes is normal. However, here is a new fight which was reported to us and the reason for that is the recent release ‘Gambler’. The original is ‘Mankatha’ in Tamil and due to this film, a big fight took place between Telugu and Tamil students in the college. This was brought to light by one of the students who wrote to us about the incident. The venue is the Priyadarshini College of engineering at Sullurpeta. Apparently, the Tamil students were debating that ‘Mankatha’ is good film while the Telugu students tagged ‘Gambler’ (the dubbed version in Telugu) as bad. The argument got heated up and it is heard that they got into fight. The heated exchange led to statements like ‘You copied our ‘Pokiri’ from Telugu students and reply was ‘So what, look at your theatres today. Only all our movies are running properly.’ This was followed by abuses like ‘Thevediya Payya’ ‘Mayiru’ from one end and our special abuses ‘L…Kod…’ and all in Telugu nativity on the other end. It was not until the girl students intervened and separated both groups that calm was restored. |
