using Xl 2007: -select the data you want to present in the graph. -goto Insert Menu > select pivot in the ribbon that will give you PivotTable Field List on the right hand side -choose the fields to add to report , in your case choose the dates from the unique list of dates. -in the field list drag and drop the fields in the Row Labels section, this will show the Tabular representation first. -add the chart now > select column chart of your choice that will put the chart on the xl sheet just beside the summary table. thats it your are done.
