T'gana stir dampens Ravi Teja's 'Nippu' With the revival of the Telangana movement, the Telugu film industry has started feeling its heat all over again. On Tuesday, the Telangana activists obstructed the shooting of Telugu film âNippuâ starring hero Ravi Teja and heroine Deeksha Seth. The film, directed by popular director Gunasekhar and produced by Y V S Chowdary, is being shot at Saddupalli village of Hayatnagar mandal in Ranga Reddy district on the outskirts of Hyderabad. However, unlike in the past, the Telangana protestors did not damage the shooting equipment and settings. They simply demanded that Ravi Teja raised Jai Telangana slogans, failing which they said they would not allow the shooting. A stunned Ravi Teja could not say anything. He simply nodded his head at their demand and left the place in a huff. The shooting was called off later. For the past few days, shooting has been going on at different locations on the city outskirts. However, now the producers are planning to shift the shooting to other villages in Andhra region. The Telangana Film Chamber also called for total shutdown of industry in the region. Chamber president Vijayender Reddy said all the 450 cinema halls in Telangana districts would remain shut on September 14 and 15 due to which the state government would incur loss in taxes to the tune of Rs 4 crore. |
