AP techie drowns in US; body to be brought tomorrow Rajahmundry (AP), Sep 5 (PTI) A 33-year-old software engineer drowned in Alabama in US while trying to save life of his friend's son, family sources said today.Chakka Sivakiran drowned in a river in Alabama on Saturday, they said, adding the body of the deceased will be brought here tomorrow from the US.CHK Durga Rao, father-in-law of the victim had left for the US yesterday to bring his body to Rajahmundry, sources said.Son of a steel businessman, Sivakiran has been in the US for the last eight years. He got married to Kakinada-based Rekha in 2006.According to the family members of the deceased, Sivakiran, along with his wife, a friend and the latter's son had gone to a picnic spot on the day of the mishap.Sivakiran, along with his friend and the latter's son, ventured into the river for swimming. Though he and his friend managed to come out of the water, the son of his friend got trapped in the river current.Though he rescued the kid, Sivakiran himself drowned in the effort, sources said."We received the news about the demise of Sivakiran on Saturday night. We were told that he was untraceable in the river, later they said he drowned," they said."We are making all arrangements to receive the body of Sivakiran tomorrow," the sources added. |
