The land owners, who initially denied encroachment, apparently feigned ignorance about the encroachment once the survey established the violation. When contacted, the Ranga Reddy district collector, Mr V. Seshadri, said the survey had established that the government land was encroached by Margadarsi. âThe encroachers have already been served notices and suitable action will be taken as per the Act,â he said. Meanwhile, it has come to light that Mr Ramoji Raoâs son, Mr Kiran, owned around 90 acres of land while his second son, Mr Suman, owned 60 acres, crossing the maximum extent of agriculture land permitted under the Land Reforms Act in both cases. Inquiries revealed that both declared the land as surplus a few years back when the state government launched a drive against excess lands.
