Fact: Not only will the payment not reduce your refund, but if you receive less than the maximum amount, you could receive an additional credit amount, up to the maximum, on your return next year. If your stimulus payment is more than the credit calculated on your return next year, you do not have to repay the difference. (The maximum amount is up to $600 for individuals or $1,200 for married couples filing jointly, plus up to $300 for each qualifying child.) Basky is right I guess. KKD, nenu kooda same ne laage SSN tarvatha apply chesa spouse ki.Then I went to IRS local office with 1040X(amendentment of 2007 taxes) form and they took the form and put a stamp on ITIN card and upadted the file. For me there s no change in income,only change is ITIN Vs SSN for Spouse. I think can email as well that form, if not 2008 taxes lo you can claim that money. no worries. | ||

actuallu naadhi ALMOST same case. unknowingly I applied for spouse' SSN a month before filing. and I used the SSN while filing. since I used ITIN last yr and SSN this year, the IRS (federal) has rejected my efile. then as per turbotax, we signed another form , may be 843OL or something, and everything is fine.
